Joey Alaiza
Traveling hawkers may be a common
sight on the streets of Hanoi, but this
didn’t keep Joey from pointing his
camera at these walking department
stores. In order to capture them in a
unique manner, though, he opted to use
an old-school photography technique:
the panning shot, made possible
by setting a slow shutter speed and
following the subject with the camera
as it moves.
Elias Guerrero
Elias was intrigued by the subtle
contrasts in this far-from-quiet scene
of bicycle and rice field. “I think I was
tripping out on the contrasts of blue vs.
green, mechanical vs. natural, cultivated
vs. wild,” notes the Manila-based
creative director. He was carrying a tiny
prosumer digicam at that time. “When
you’re limited by your equipment, you
can make do by geeking out on color
and composition instead,” he adds.
