New passenger
milestone reached
The Philippines’ largest national carrier,
CEB, flew its 70 millionth passenger, Ms.
Rubia Jalaluddin, last November 15. She
flew from Manila to Zamboanga.
“
Since CEB started operations in 1996,
we have now flown 70 million passengers.
This number is a testament to how much
CEB’s trademark low fares and extensive
route network have revolutionized air
travel in the Philippines,” said CEB VP for
Marketing and Distribution Candice Iyog.
The countdown started last November
9,
during the launch of the North Philippine
(
NorthPhil) Tourism and Travel Expo at the
Marquee Mall in Pampanga, where CEB is
the official airline partner for the fourth year.
Jalaluddin, a 21-year-old Tawi-Tawi
resident, received 70 free flights valid for
one year.
CEB launched three new domestic routes
from the Western Visayas region last
October 25.
The airline introduced direct thrice-
weekly flights from Bacolod to Cagayan
de Oro, and four direct weekly flights from
Iloilo to General Santos. On October 26,
the airline also launched a thrice-weekly
service from Iloilo to Puerto Princesa in
central Palawan.
“
CEB launched a total of 10 domestic
routes from August to October, greatly
increasing connectivity within the
Philippines and enabling even more
Filipinos to travel by air,“ said CEB VP
for Marketing and Distribution Candice
Iyog. “These three routes signify our
commitment to increasing accessibility to
and from the Western Visayas region.”

CEB to launch
flights to Bali
CEB will soon fly to Bali (Denpasar),
Indonesia, its 20th international destination.
“
CEB will launch its direct service from
Manila to Bali on March 16, 2013, just in time
for peak summer travel in the Philippines,”
said CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution
Candice Iyog.
CEB’s Manila-Bali (Denpasar) twice-
weekly service will be every Tuesday and
Saturday. It will depart Manila at 4am and
arrive in Bali (Denpasar) at 7.50am. The
return flight will depart Bali (Denpasar) at
8.35
am, and arrive in Manila at 12.25pm.
The most popular tourism destination in
Indonesia, Bali has been ranked by BBC
Travel, Lonely Planet and Travel & Leisure as
among the world’s best islands. Visitors often
go to Kuta for the shopping, nightlife, surfing
and beach activities, then head to the cultural
center of Ubud in the center of the island.
Bali (Denpasar) is CEB’s second
destination in Indonesia aside from the
capital Jakarta, where CEB operates a four-
times weekly service.
The lowest year-round fares for Bali
(
Denpasar) start at PHP3,499, which is up to
38%
lower than other airlines.
“
Passengers now have more choices when
traveling on CEB’s extensive South-East
Asian network, since we are also the only
airline flying from Manila to Hanoi and Siem
Reap, and the only low-cost carrier flying
from Manila to Kota Kinabalu,” she added.
Presently, CEB flies to 19 international
destinations: Bandar Seri Begawan,
Bangkok, Beijing, Busan, Guangzhou, Hanoi,
Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Incheon,
Jakarta, Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur,
Macau, Osaka, Shanghai, Siem Reap,
Singapore, Taipei and Xiamen.
