runner-up, exclaimed when asked about
her flight to her mother’s homeland, the Philippines, in September. After whipping the
entire archipelago into a cheering frenzy during the final rounds of the just-wrapped season
of
American Idol
, Jessica — whose mother is Filipina and whose father is Mexican — is
arriving to an adoring crowd. The trip also marks the first time the 16-year-old vocal talent
will be out of the US. New champion Phillip Phillips and the other finalists are also coming
to Manila as part of the 2012
Idol
concert tour schedule.
