Eachof the3,600panels thatmake
up thegallery’s 12glasssheets,
werecreated inaspecial furnace
inPadua, Italy, usingaspecial
technique thatcurves theglass.
Inspiredbysailsbeingblown in
thewind, theyweredesigned to
appearopaque from theoutside, yet
transparent from the inside, togive
aviewof thesurroundingpark.

The 11,700m

building isnow
oneof thebiggest contemporary
artmuseums inParis,with 11
exhibitiongalleriesdedicated to
LouisVuitton’sprivatecollection,
alongside temporaryexhibits
andcommissions. There’salsoa
350-seat auditoriumspace for the
presentationofmultidisciplinary
performancesandevents, and
terraceson theupper levels that
providepanoramicviewsof Paris.
