“The older Voss resort has
11 lifts and a gondola, while
Myrkdalen has eight, including
this T-bar, which goes to the
top. This shot was taken on
a January morning before
anyone had even skied down.
It was also very cold. Because
we’re only 1,000m up,
we don’t always have the
high-altitude sun and it can
be around -15°C in winter.
The marks you see are on the
off-piste area and they’re from
the day before. Everyone here
skis away from the slopes
– they’re looking for virgin
powder. When the resort first
opened six years ago, it was
empty all the time, which was
amazing. You can still get the
runs to yourself, but in a way
I’m actually destroying it for
myself by telling people how
great it is.”
