A REAL TONIC
With 30 types of gin, plus
Spanish-style balloon
glasses, Camden’s Colonel
Fawcett is our favourite
London spot for a G&T.
This month
we’re talking
about...
WHAT’S UP, DOC?
As bar snacks go, the
whole carrots on offer at
Budapest’s kert bars are up
there. They’re certainly the
healthiest we’ve ever seen.

I’d like to think it was the mother of all
shindigs, though it probably didn’t match
up to that of one celeb, who partied till
3am at a Hollywood nightclub
and
got
snapped in a drunk state by paparazzi.
Said person is actually one of the 18
famous faces you’ll find in the quiz on
page 44. But can youmatch up the name
with the right story of birthday excess?
It’s all part of a special issue celebrating
the fact it’s 18 years since the first easyJet
flight took off, bound for Glasgow. Given
that we can’t throw a big party and invite
all of you, we thought we’d deliver the
next best thing, celebrating the best stuff
in the world with the mother of all issues.
Top of the list is a very special chat
with a chap youmight just recognise from
our cover. It is, of course, Usain Bolt,
the world’s fastest man. We caught up
with him to find out just what it is that
makes him a world beater (p90).
Elsewhere,
Restaurant
magazine editor,
WilliamDrew, was in Girona, a tiny city
north of Barcelona that’s home to the
newly crowned best restaurant on the
planet, El Cellar de Can Roca, to meet the
trio of brothers who run it (p62).
Last but not least, our deputy editor was
off trying to set a Guinness world record for
the most capital cities visited in 24 hours.
She returned unscathed, if somewhat sleep
deprived, but did she do it? Find out on
page 55. And enjoy your flight.

I’d be lying
if I said I properly
remembered
my 18th birthday
celebration...
