Burger International may share an acronym with the
city’s notorious upcoming airport, but it certainly hasn’t
suffered the same setbacks. The nearly constant queue of
meat lovers is testament that this place is already flying
high.
Dudu

Asian fusion restaurants are a dime a dozen in Berlin, but
Dudu takes pride in offering inventive takes on traditional
dishes, particularly the sushi. Make sure you go for a drink
afterwards at sister bar Bonbon over the road.
Ä

40 Weserstrasse, +49 303 064 8751)
Until recently,
Weserstrasse was a sleepy residential street in the middle
of Neukölln. But a spate of bar openings has turned the
area into a nightlife hub. Ä (pronouced "ae") was one of
the first to open, and remains a favourite among locals.

November in Berlin can
yield some pretty gruesome weather. If you get caught
out, keep warm playing retro video games at this brilliant
museum.

and hot drink – though be sure to wrap up warm.
Hinterhof Bar
(
81 Munchensteinerstrasse, +41 613 310
400
) In the industrial wasteland south of Basel, Hinterhof
is one of the newest offbeat venues in the city. Be aware it
doesn’t usually open until 10pm (Thursday-Saturday).
From 30 November, you can get an internationally festive
taste at the
Spielzeug Welten Museum Basel
. Their
Christmas, Sweet and Crunchy
exhibition will see the
museum filled with Christmas biscuits and cakes from all
around the world. Yum.
