saving fuel for a more comfortable and eco-friendly flight
We’re taking a load off
fuel efficiency is
a priority for us,
so we’re always trying to find ways
we can make planes lighter and
reduce our CO
2
emissions. We’ve
done a huge amount of work
recently to make us more fuel
efficient, and now we’ve come up
with a way to cut down on the
weight of seating.
Engineered by Recaro – one of
the world’s top aircraft-seat
manufacturers – these lightweight,
grey-and-orange chairs are 26%
lighter than traditional seats.
They’re ergonomically designed,
and padded with top-quality foams
to provide the best comfort and
support for our customer. The
backrest is set at a 15° angle for a
relaxed seating position and the
slim backrest provides excellent
support. Also, because they’re
slimmer, there’s even more space
between rows.
The look of the seats is stylish
and simple, with an added coat
hook and improved seat-pocket
design. Complementing the
new-look seats are a new carpet
and colour co-ordinated
emergency lighting strips.
Fitted to all new aircraft
deliveries, these seats will be on
board 14 of our A320s by the end
of next summer, so sit back and
enjoy a lighter way to travel.
