Simple. Elegant. Eco-friendly?Well, as airports go,
Dalaman’s travel hub is about as good as it gets.
Using 40% less energy than the average terminal, its
international building is oversailed by a lattice roof that
allows the main hall to benefit fromnatural light.
Not only has Bünyamin Derman and Emre Arolat
Architects’ design won critical support, being highly
commended in the
Architecture Review
’s Emerging
Architecture Awards in 2006, but – with its pared-back,
glass building and imposing marching colonnades –
it’s something of a modern classic.
