Mac, itdidn’t look likewewouldall fitwell
together.But itendedupbeing thissynergy
created from thedivergentsensibilities
anddifferent tastesandoutlooksonhow
toapproachcreativity—how toapproach
life ingeneral. Itwasgreater than thesum
of itsparts.Now, you’d thinkall theseyears
later thatsomehowwewouldhavefigured
outourdrill. Thatweknowhow tobeon the
samepageordealwithacertainamount
ofchaoswithin the ranks.Butonsome
strange level—and it’skindof refreshing—
the interactionbetween themembers isstill

“A lotof itstems from the fact that there
were these twocouples thatbrokeup.
Thingshavesettleddownprettywell.But it is
somehow reflectiveof the fact thatwedon’t
allwant thesame thingsat thesame time for
thesame reasons.Soyou’vegotelementsof
that,and itmakes it thatmuchmorespecial
whenwedocome together.Andpeopledo
seem tobuy into thesubtextbehind the
scenesasmuchas theybuy into themusic.”
