I said, ‘Really?’He said, ‘Yeah, you’re the
funniest girl I know.’„” (For his money,

Fisherwas dubious. Nevertheless, she
agreed to audition for
WeddingCrashers
,
the 2005 comedy starring OwenWilson
andVinceVaughnas incorrigiblebachelors
who con singlewomen atweddings. Until,
thatis,theymeettheirmatchesintheforms
ofRachelMcAdamsandFisher.
Duringfilming,Wilsono—ered friendly
advice.“IrememberOwencominguptome
andsaying, ‘Youknow,you’replayingitpret-
tybig.Youmightwanttokeep itmorereal,’„”
saysFisher,perfectlymimickingtheactor’s
drawl. TypicalFisher; shewasn’t cowed. “I
remember thinking, ‘No, you’rewrong. I’m
notgoingtoplay itreal—I’mgoingtoplay it
broad.’AndI justwent for it.”

got someof thebiggest laughs forherunin-
hibiteddepictionof a schizophrenicnym-
phomaniac. (Turns out there is one thing
Fisher darenot doon screen: nudity. Any
lovescenes featuredabodydouble.)

Fisher admits. “Maybebecause Idon’t feel
I’ma traditionallyprettywoman, soIdon’t
feel thatpressure toappearbeautiful or to
motionwhile she explains her unconven-
tionalchoiceofactingschool.
“It seemed like such a different world.
