work.
What’s the impetus
behindyour $75
RecessionistaDays cut?
It’s really for
that girl who lives in theEast Village
who onlywearsManoloBlahniks but
eats ramen noodles. Those girls don’t
have the disposable income, but they
want salon hair. It’s alsomyway of
helpingpeoplewho have lost their jobs
and can no longer afford to come in on a
regular basis.
What’s the secret togreat hairwhen
you can’t get toa salon?
The scalp is
one huge concern because it becomes
very dehydrated from
changes in seasons.
So it’s important to
condition the scalp
aswell as the hair.
I offer a product
called
Goodnite
that
is a replenishing hair
serum that you put on at night. [It]
smells divine but doesn’t end up all over
your pillow. It’s also great to use on
those eight-hour flightswhen you have
to go straight to ameeting or dinner
right afterward.
Anyother advice for protecting the
hair inwinter?
Static electricity is a
big concern becausewe tend towear
more hats and scarves. To avoid that, I
use
Hair Sheets
, which are essentially
moist towelettes for the hair that
contain vitaminsA, D, andE, aswell as
an antioxidant andUV absorber. I also
carry them
inmy Louis
VuittonEpi
bagwhen I’m
traveling.
What elsewillwefind in that bag?
My iPod.MyBlackBerry; there should
be a support group for that. Definitely
Bliss Lemon+SageBody
Butter
becausemy elbows
get so dry, and I just love
thatmoisturizer. And— one
more confession— anytime
I fly, I always take
American
Way
. I know it’s there for
me to take, but it just feels
kinda naughty.
