MoreFleetUpgrades
In addition to the enhancements to our 777s,
American is investing inupgrades to other fleet
types, and we’re bringing brand-new aircraft
to our customers sooner than planned. These
investments come at a time when American is
working to strengthen its financial footing, thus
striking a balance between reinvesting in the
business to improve the customer experience
and our need for continued financial improve-
ment. For example:
• On the Boeing 757, we’re upgrading the First
Class cabinwith seats that offer added features
for more comfort, adding new Economy cabin
seats, giving the interior a brighter look, and
enhancing the in-flight entertainment with new
monitorsanddigital-mediafile servers.
• On some Boeing 767 aircraft, we’re adding
the next-generation Business Class product,

demandpersonal entertainment devices.
• New Boeing 737 aircraft will be delivered to
American beginning in early 2009, ahead of the
initiallyplanned2013 to2016 time frame, further
enhancing the travel experience for customers.
