Practical as we are, we start looking for something of vegetable origin that we can buy in the supermarket, something with a lot of Chimerolectins in it.
It is the only antifungal treatment to which fungi can never get resistant and it is 100% natural and safe.
For example, a 1988 study (see the full text here) found that “the growth of Candida Albicans was found to be markedly inhibited by AGE [aqueous garlic extract]”.
When these two natural compounds come into contact (by chopping the garlic, crushing it or by other means), they form an antibacterial agent named allicin, which then combines to form ajoene. You can use garlic as a complement to your other antifungals without having to spend a great deal of money.
Onions along with garlic can give you breath issues, so a handy tip is to eat them with a bit of parsley to counter the smell.
It also has a soothing effect on any inflammation that the Candida overgrowth may cause in your intestinal tract. It has also been shown to help stabilize blood sugar levels – this is important for Candida sufferers because elevated blood sugar levels can feed your yeast overgrowth. Cayenne also increases metabolism and circulation, which will help to reduce one of the most common Candida symptoms, fatigue. Likely, boiled garlic (blanched shortly, just to take its edge off) may still have antifungal properties, since Chimerolectins are reportedly heat-resistant (not heat-proof). According to another article by Huntington College of Health Sciences, “Research has clearly shown that garlic has anticandidal activity, inhibiting both the growth and function of Candida Albicans”. To get the best results and prevent the Candida yeast from adapting to the treatment, it is best to take two or three antifungals at the same time. Rutabaga is a versatile vegetable – you can make a rutabaga mash, cut up some rutabaga fries or mix it into your vegetable soup.
In that capacity, some types of Lectins can wreak havoc, by causing things to stick together that shouldn’t stick together. As with other antifungals, scientists suspect that it works by disrupting the cells walls of the Candida yeast cells.
But common sense says that especially seeds are good potential candidates to find Chimerolectins, because plants will go quickly extinct when fungi are able to infect their seeds.
