newcomers Sean Seefeldt – 5-11, 190 – PK – Newfane, NY – Edinboro University Seefeldt transfers to Southern from Division II Edinboro where he saw action in all 11 games last season as a true freshman … He made 4-11 field goals with a long of 42 yards, while connecting on 34-37 extra points and amassing 2377 yards in kickoffs … Seefeldt prepped at Newfane High School in New York where he was an All-State selection and team MVP … he also was a threeyear starter in basketball and participated in track and field … He is the son of Kathie and Garth Seefeldt. DeShawn Smith – CB – 5-7, 160 – Smyrna, Tenn. – Dodge City Community College (Kan.) An All-Conference cornerback at Dodge City Community College in Kansas, Smith played two seasons for the Conquistadors and coach Bob Majeski … A 2010 graduate of Blackman High School in Murfreesboro, Tenn., Smith was an All-Mid State running back, while also being named All-Area and All-Region 6AAA … Smith is the son of Orlando Smith and Ava Martin. Dalvin Taylor – LB – 6-1, 205 – Holcomb, Miss. – Holmes Community College (Miss.) Taylor played junior college football at Holmes Community College in Mississippi, where he was an All-State, All-Region and all-conference selection at linebacker … A 2011 graduate of Grenada High School, Taylor was named the Best Defensive Player of the Year as a senior… Taylor is the son of Galvin Taylor and Jamie Gentry. Spencer Trumbly - OL - 6-2, 265 - Paola, Kan. - Fort Scott Community College. Trumbly was a two-year starter for the Greyhounds and coach Curtis Horton at Fort Scott CC. He was an All-Conference selection this past year. Trumbly is a graduate of Paola High School in Paola, Kan. where he played for coach Mike Dumpert and the Panthers. While there, he was an All-District and All-State pick. He was a four-year state qualifier in wrestling and an All-Conference pick there.
