Radio 680 KFEQ, the flagship station of the Griffon Sports Network is the radio home to Griffon Football for the 24th consecutive year. Dave Riggert begins his third season as the lead play-by-play voice, while Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Orf joins him for color analysis. Nick McCutcheon and Brett Esely will split sideline reporting duties. Coverage begins one hour prior to kickoff with the Heartland Health Pre Game Show. With a 5,000-watt signal, KFEQ can be heard in several states throughout the Midwest. Riggert, also the Sports Director at ESPN 1550 Radio in St. Joseph, will cover Griffon Football throughout the season. He will broadcast his show (which airs 12-1 pm daily) every Monday from the Griffon Luncheon at 36th Street Restaurant and will carry weekly coaches press conferences live as well as interview Griffon student-athletes, coaches and staff about the weekly happenings within the department. Television ABC affiliate KQTV is the official television home of the Griffons. During the football season, the Griffons always receive priority attention. Whether it be live feeds from games, post-game shows or interviews after practice, great games and performances never go unnoticed. All Griffon home football games will be replayed on Suddenlink Channel 39 at various times throughout the season. Fox 26 KNPN covers and reports Griffon news throughout each sports season. Griffon Sports Insider The official television show of Griffon Athletics, “Griffon Sports Insider,” was launched in fall of 2010. The weekly half hour show features interviews with in-season Griffon coaches and student-athletes and game highlights. The show also includes weekly features, a calendar of events and the world famous pick segment. The show will air this year on KQTV Channel 10 in St. Joseph Wednesdays from 11:30 am-12 pm, at various times on MWSU Channel 39 on Suddenlink Cable, Tuesday evenings on Metro Sports in Kansas City or anytime on line at gogriffons.com. Newspapers The St. Joseph News-Press, with a circulation of more than 30,000 homes throughout northwest Missouri, is the official news source of the Griffons. Complete with a beat writer, feature stories and full game reports, Griffon coverage is second to none during the season. The Griffon News is the official on-campus news source for Griffon Athletics, and to offer more regional coverage, the Kansas City Star covers the MIAA throughout the year.
