The fall semester 2013 brought the highest overall GPA for MWSU Athletics on record. In total, 166 student-athletes were named to MWSU Honor Rolls. The MIAA selects students who earn at least a 3.0 GPA to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. During the 2013-14 year, 120 Griffon student-athletes received this distinction. In what proved to be one of the most successful academic semesters in history for Griffons, 24 student-athletes were named to the President’s Honor Roll for earning a 4.0 GPA. Nine Griffons were given the MIAA Scholar Athlete Award for being named All-MIAA for athletic performance and earning a 3.5 GPA in the classroom. Seven Griffon student-athletes received the MIAA Academic Excellence award for finishing the academic year with a 4.0 GPA.
