For the first time, a second NFL team came to MWSU in 2012. The Arizona Cardinals spent three days on campus, one of those being a joint practice with the Chiefs that drew more than 3,000 fans. Of the daily average 1,800 fans that attend camp, 65 percent of those are from outside the St. Joseph area. That gives MWSU a chance to show off its beautiful campus to visitors and its facilities that MWSU Student-Athletes utilize. Griffon football players take part in the camp experience on a yearly basis, also. They facilitate the NFL’s Gatorade Junior Training Camp, a youth experience for boys and girls in grades three thru eight that teaches fundamentals of the game and the importance of hydration during the hot summer months. #MISSOURIWESTERNWINS Page 15
