Meet the Lions ... Returners 28 •  Mitchell Osburn • C 5-9 • 185 • R/R • Sophomore • Broken Arrow, Okla./Seminole State CC 2013 - Osburn sat out most of the 2013 season with an injury ... In action at the beginning of the season, he hit .400 in three games with a pair of doubles and three RBIs. Prior to Southern - As a freshman at Seminole, Osburn hit .220 in 23 games, while scoring 13 runs and driving in ten. Prior to Seminole, Osburn prepped at Broken Arrow High School and played for coach Shannon Dobson where he started for three years, earning four letters for the Tigers. As a senior, he hit .380, while earning All-Metro, All-State and Under Armor All-American honors. He helped his team to three regional championships and three trips to the state semi-finals. Personal - The son of Jeff and Miriam Osburn, Mitch plans to major in criminal justice at Southern. He had his best outing of the season in relief at home against Emporia State where he threw 2.1 innings and struck out four, while walking none. Prior to Southern - Hoover is the younger brother of former Lion Kellen Hoover. He comes to Southern after a season at Mid-American Nazarene University. He will be a sophomore at Southern. Last year, Hoover, a right handed pitcher, threw 32 innings and finished the season with a 2-2 record, three saves and a 4.78 ERA, while striking out 31 and walking just 17. A native of El Dorado Springs, Mo., Hoover went to El Dorado Springs High School where he was a three year starter on the baseball diamond, while starting all four years in basketball and three years in football. Prior to Southern - Lux comes to Southern from Wyandotte High School where he was a fouryear starter for the Bears. Also a standout in both basketball and track and field, Lux was an All- Conference pitcher each of the four years he played, while being named All-State this past year and the Conference MVP, as well.
