A chalk line near the batting cage in the left field foul area marks the boundary between live and dead ball territory. If a ground ball crosses the line, the ball is dead. However, a player must come back into live ball territory to throw. 3. All balls hit into the bullpen area are live except for those that become lodged beneath the bullpen benches. Lodged balls are dead. 4. The first row of fence signs in the outfield are in play. The second row of fence signs, message center and scoreboard are recessed behind the fence and are out of play. Any ball striking the second level of fence signs, message center or scoreboard on the fly shall be a home run. 5. Any ball that goes beneath the deck area along the right field foul line is dead. 6. Players may lean on the tarp to catch a ball but cannot go on top of the tarp. Any ball caught while standing on the tarp shall be a dead ball. 7. The break on the backstop is anything above the horizontal wire located at the top of the support poles. Any ball going above the break shall be a dead ball. BOWLING GREEN HOT RODS Bowling Green Ballpark - Bowling Green, KY 1. The following are home runs: Any ball that is hit over the 8’ wall in left or the 13’ wall in right field. Any ball hit above the yellow stripe on the batter’s eye. Any ball striking either foul pole above 8’ wall. Any ball striking the scoreboard. Any ball hitting on top of the LED sign in left field. 2. Any ball that hits field tarp is live. Ball lodged in, or behind tarp, is a dead ball. Player can lean on the tarp but not elevate himself by standing on the tarp to catch a ball. 3. A batted ball hit into the left corner that bounces and hits the wall railing is a ground rule double. A batted ball remains in play if it bounces off the wall pads and remains on the field. 4. Fair ball that rolls underneath the gate in left center is two bases. 5. Ball lodged in, on or behind backstop is a dead ball. 6. Player may reach into the dugout to catch foul pop fly. 7. Top step of the dugout and all railings of dugout are in play. 8. Player cannot enter the dugout steps to catch any foul pop fly. 9. Any ball entering the dugouts or striking the roof facing is considered a dead ball. 10. The handicap-access ramps on the 1st and 3rd base sides are dead-ball areas. A player cannot enter the area to make a catch, but can reach over the railings. 11. If a pitched or thrown ball becomes lodged behind or between sections of protective padding, the ball shall be ruled dead. BURLINGTON BEES Community Field - Burlington, IA 1. Behind home plate: Any batted or thrown ball that goes above the break is dead. 2. Dugouts: Any batted or thrown ball that hits concrete lips or guard rails in front of the dugouts is in play. Any batted or thrown ball that goes into the dugout or hits the top facing of either dugout is a dead ball. Players may lean into the dugout to make a catch, but cannot elevate themselves on the concrete lip or the steps to make a play. 3. First and Third base foul area: Any thrown ball which hits the nets is in play, unless the ball gets caught up in the net. GROUND RULES
