athletics administration Alexis Robinson Assistant Director of Athletics for Student Services and Senior Woman Administrator Alexiss Robinson, a graduate of Hampton University, HAMPTON PREVIEW COACHES PIRATES MEAC OPPONENTS REVIEW RECORDS POSTSEASON has joined the Pirates as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Student Services and Senior Woman Administrator. She will have direct oversight of academic support and compliance, while also holding joint oversight with Director of Athletics Novelle Dickenson over athletic performance and trainers. Robinson returns to Hampton after serving as Director of Student-Athlete Support Services at Howard University from 2009-12, where she managed operations of the academic support offices to include academic advisors, tutors, and study hall monitors. She also oversaw operational budgets for the academic support and student-athlete affairs offices, managed APR data collection, and coordinated career development, leadership training, and volunteer projects for student athletes. Prior to working at Howard, Robinson spent three years as the Assistant Director of Compliance and Student Services at Temple University. Among her duties at Temple: conducting rules education programs for coaches and student-athletes, oversight of the school compliance database, assisting with the investigation and reporting of NCAA and institutional violations, and serving as a campus liaison to financial aid and accounts payable offices. Before her time at Temple, Robinson spent a year at Norfolk State as Compliance Coordinator, where she served as certification officer for student-athlete eligibility of the school’s 15 Division I athletic programs. She also conducted rules education seminars and led a project management team for APR and Graduation Success Rate reports. Her career started with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), where Robinson spent a year as a compliance intern. She worked closely with the conference’s Director of Compliance, and worked heavily with the MEAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Robinson graduated from Hampton in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management, before earning a master’s degree in kinesiology from Indiana University in 2004. As an undergrad at Hampton (2000-03), Robinson served as head manager of the men’s basketball team. She is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators, the Women’s Sports Foundation, and the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics.
