We are looking for him to provide some depth for us.” Coach Kershaw on Bolobiongo: “He fills a need in what we were looking for in a bigger type of linebacker that is athletic and can run. He is a true freshman, along with Bell, but we are expecting him to come in and play.” Coach Kershaw on Brown: “He is big and athletic; bigger than the guys we have. We are looking for him to come in and play.” Coach Kershaw on Dorsey: “He is a 6-5 offensive tackle that is real athletic and tall. He fills a need.” Coach Kershaw on Ferguson: “Jamar is a defensive lineman/long snapper. We look for him to come in and start at long snapper for us and give us some added depth on the defensive line.” Coach Kershaw on Gatlin: “Tavon is a transfer wide receiver in the same mold as Bell, but is a transfer and makes him older. We were looking for some shifty, fast guys to work out slot positions and he fits that bill.” Coach Kershaw on Hampton: “Javon is a defensive tackle, we felt we needed to get bigger in the interior. He is a big, athletic lineman and we are looking for him to come in and play.” Coach Kershaw on Jenkins: “He is a transfer quarterback with a real strong arm, athletic and can run. We are looking for him to compete for the starting quarterback job.” Coach Kershaw on Lewis: “Reginald is a transfer offensive lineman. He is a junior-college kid that is real athletic. We look for him to come in and help us immediately.” Coach Kershaw on Nelson: “William is freshman linebacker from Washington, DC. He is a bigger, athletic type of guy. We are looking for him to help us at outside linebacker.” Coach Kershaw on Ortega: “Rueben is a transfer inside linebacker for us. He fits a need. He is big, athletic and can run. We are looking for him to come in and play for us.” Coach Kershaw on Thorb: “Tim is a linebacker and comes from the same school as Bolobiongo. He is big and athletic. We are looking for him to come in and play for us.” Coach Kershaw on Whitmire: “Dondre is a freshman offensive lineman from Washington, DC. He is real athletic and can move. We look for him to come in and provide some depth for us.” Coach Kershaw on Whitmire: “Darius is a local kid from Hoke County. He is big, athletic and can move. We are looking for him to come in and help early on.”
