C-N has outscored its opposition in those home playoff contests 609-410, or an average of 33.83-22.77. The only loss at Burke-Tarr in the playoffs came in 1997 in the semifinals when the Eagles lost to Northern Colorado 30-29. When you factor in Carson-Newman’s NAIA playoff experience, there are 34 postseason contests played at Mossy Creek. In the NAIA days, the Eagles were 15-2 in playoff games held in Jeff City, making Carson-Newman a combined 32-3 in postseason contests played in either the old or new Burke-Tarr stadiums. While in NAIA, C-N outscored opponents at home 517-263, or an average of 30.41-15.47. SHUT THE DOOR: The Eagles have not been shutout of a game since the 1992 season when they lost to New Haven, 14-0. That is a span of 223 straight games. The New Haven game is the only time that Ken Sparks has been shut out at C-N. You have to go back 169 more games from there to get to a 26-0 loss to Mars Hill in 1978 to find the next shut out. STREAK AT THE CREEK: The Eagles have an impressive winning percentage at home with a 92-10 (.901) mark at Mossy Creek since the 1993 season.
