Kicked off three times for an average of 57.7 yards a kick. HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Greeneville High School in Greeneville, Tenn. Played for 2009 Greene Devils squad that was State Runner-Up, and was a part of teh Class 4A SState Championship Teams in 2010 and 2011. Greeneville also won district and region titles for his last three seasons as well. Won the Football Special Teams Award from 2009-11 and was also the Special Teams Player of the Year during those seasons. As a senior in 2011, broke the school record for longest field goal, 57 yards. Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State First Team Kicker from 2009-11. Three-time All Greene County Football Team selection. Selected as the Most Talented Athlete by his senior class. As a senior in 2011 ranked first in Tennessee in most extra points kicking in a career (285). In 2010, kicked a 49 yard field goal in the State Championship Game, second best in TSSAA history. Had a season best two tackles for loss in that game as well. Recovered his lone fumble against Tusculum (10/19). 2012 (Georgia Southern): Redshirted High School: Orange starred at Naples High School, graduating in 2011. The Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) recognized Orange as the top-ranked cornerback in Southwest Florida and lauded him an All-District 16 pick on defense. Orange helped to lead Naples to a 13-1 record in 2010 and top-25 ranking in the state. He totaled 33 tackles as a senior and returned one of his three interceptions in 2010 for 95 yards for a touchdown. He was selected as the player with the “hit of the week” for three games in 2010. In his senior campaign, he scored four defensive touchdowns and had an interception in the “Coconut Bowl” in the win over rival Lel. His junior season he blocked four punts. Has always been an Eagle, first for the Naples Golden Eagles, then the Georgia Southern Eagles and now the Carson-Newman Eagles. Played for head coach Bill Kramer at Naples. Returned seven punts for an average of 6.1 yards a return and six kickoffs for 200 yards, or 33.3 yards a return. Pope scored his touchdowns against Brevard (9/21) and Mars Hill (10/5). Set his career highs for rushing against the Lions with nine carries for 71 yards. Also had his best kick return game against the Lions, bringing two kicks back for 77 yards. Brough two punts back for 53 yards against Wayne State (9/5). 2012: Sat out the year with an injury, redshirted. Rushed for six yards and a score in the Orange and Blue spring game. HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Stockbridge HS, where he played for Coach Kevin Whitley. Pope played a number of positions at SHS, including wide receiver, running back and defensive back.
