Nominees are submitted to the conference office by the institution sports information offices. Winners will be named via E-Mail and the conference website by Monday afternoon. Postseason Awards Following the conclusion of regular season play, the MEAC will conduct a vote for all-conference teams. The teams will be voted on by the conference’s head men’s basketball coaches and the primary sports information contact. Each group will vote on a first, second and third all-conference team in addition to a Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Head coaches will also vote on the conference’s Head Coach of the Year award. MEAC Basketball Tie-Breaker System Two-Team Tie • Head-to-Head Competition • Conference-only record based on winning percentage vs. highest ranked team in conference standings, continuing down in descending order • Scoring margin between two teams • Coin toss by the Commissioner Multiple-team tie (3 or more) • Team with best winning percentage vs. all tied teams. Once the top team is selected the remaining teams are based on their record amongst the original tied teams. In case of tied percentages: 3-0 is better than 2-0; and 2-0 is better than 1-0 • Conference-only record based on winning percentage vs. highest ranked team in conference standings, continuing down in descending order • Scoring margin vs. common conference opponents • Best winning percentage in non-conference games against Division I opponents • Coin toss by the Commissioner MEDIA SERVICES MEAC Staff Dr. Dennis E.
