Wood filler oak cabinets, diy full size loft bed plans,18mm birch plywood b&q,woodworking tooling manufacturers - Test Out

The simplest way to explain it is that wood filler goes on any areas that you want to sand perfectly flat and smooth.
You can already see how spectacular the lighting is going to be washing down the front of those cabinets. After the butcher block was attached to the cabinets, we needed to fill in any gaps in the seams with wood filler.
This will help the wood filler blend more evenly with the wood and help the seam to accept the stain the same as the rest of the countertop. I LOVE your countertops Traci, and your tips are so so so helpful, especially that part about sawdust + wood filler!
So I started doing some research to see how I could get smooth white cabinets, when starting out with dark, heavy grained, oak cabinets. It’s amazing to see how the Bondo product actually works, look at the picture above to see how well it fills in the grain.

To complete all the bases in my kitchen, as well as one upper cabinet, I used 2 containers of Bondo Wood Filler. I generally paint both sides of the door, and then all of the framing around the cabinets that can be seen. The cabinets in our kitchen are original oak cabinets from 1991, and frankly they just aren’t my style. I didn’t mind though because I just kept thinking about how beautiful my cabinets were going to be when they were done. In places I had applied too much product (when I was still learning how to apply it) there are some uneven surfaces, but it still looks much better than if I hadn’t used the wood filler.
In our last house we painted our 1965 orange cabinets with the Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformation kit and they looked fabulous.
Don’t get me wrong, there are TONS of people that have painted their kitchen cabinets, but no one that had done was I was looking to do.

With the wood filler you can only cover a couple feet of cabinet at a time because the product hardens pretty quickly, so it was a very tedious task but I knew it would be worth it in the end. With that in mind I started thinking about how to hide wood grain on cabinets, doing it myself.
My husband is constantly either bumping into the cabinet behind him or bouncing off the fridge.
I decided to contact 3M to see if they had any type of wood filler that would be good for a project like mine.
