A non-profit membership organization devoted to preserving, studying, building, restoring, and using wooden and bark canoes, and to disseminating information about canoeing heritage in central Pennsylvania. The Susquehanna Chapter was formed in January, 2010, when George Ginnovan held a meeting of persons belonging to the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association who reside in central Pennsylvania.
Someone might ask, why bother with old wooden canoes that are covered in canvas when you can buy one made of indestructible aluminum, or plastic, or fiberglass. The NW Chapter is dedicated to preserving, studying, building, restoring and using wooden canoes and disseminating information on canoeing heritage in North America.
