Woodworking’s most innovative and exciting trade event of 2015 brings the future into focus—and the picture’s better than ever! The biennial event, held as part of AWFS®Fair, attracted 169 entries from 44 different schools in the United States and Canada in 2015, which represents a 30% increase in entries from the previous competition in 2013. The Fresh Wood student woodworking competition will once again be featured at the AWFS Fair, showcasing the top finalist projects. New in 2015, the American Association of Woodturners (AAW) will host Turning to the Future, a wood turning competition for high school and post secondary students. The Woodworkers Guild Of America's George Vondriska will be coming to SELECT CITIES this season. George Vondriska, influenced by an exceptional junior high shop teacher, has been doing woodworking for decades. Chuck Bender has built period furniture designs for some of the finest homes and collections in the country. Glen Huey has nearly thirty years of woodworking experience, and focuses on 18th- and early 19th-century furniture designs. The Woodworking Shows has lined up a bunch of the best woodworking presenters in the country, and along with a great line-up of tool vendors the season has, and will continue to be a blockbuster event!
