Mid century modern furniture building, making a shoe rack from pallets, homemade gun safe locking mechanism - Reviews
Before beginning to build, always check in on my site to make sure you have the most up to date set of plans, I occasionally update and change the plans to make the building process easier or to allow for less expensive purchasing of materials! This entry was posted in DIY Tutorials, Furniture Building, My Old Apartment and tagged mid-century modern, old apartment living room, vintage furniture on by Jane. I am not always a fan of pieces that are too matchy matchy, so mixing a modern piece with a vintage inspired piece or a traditional piece is a fabulous way to make your furniture look collected and intentional without it looking like you purchased it all from the same store!
If you print out or save plans, be sure to check in on my site to be sure you have the most up to date set of plans, as I occasionally update things for ease of building or buying.
All the pieces are handmade of maple and each piece is finished with a low-VOC waterbased topcoat or an all natural hand applied oil wax finish, it’s very eco-friendly furniture. If you are new to building, read through the GETTING STARTED section and other articles found under the BUILD tab in the menu on my site, it has valuable information about how to get started, tools and techniques.
I do not know when I will get to building it with my insane schedule, especially since it means driving up to my Dad’s to build it.
Not every plan that I post has been built and tested, so you are building at your own risk.
This collection would bring some vintage touches though it’s very minimalist and looks modern. If you are unsure about whether you are building safely, run a quick online search for the tool or technique you are using, or contact me via email or post to the forum before you move ahead.
