Diy children's tent, build folding table top, wood stain colors outdoor - How to DIY
Measure another 23" and repeat to add a third horizontal board to complete one tent frame side.
As promised, here is the tutorial on how I created the tent covers for Rylee’s birthday party. I’ve seen these A-frame tents before but these hand painted covers and so unique and personal, I just love it.
Again, how you make this tent cover will vary depending on the size of the crocheted cover you find and decide to use.
TIPS: For a little extra detail and to keep the tent cover taut, I fed twine through some holes of the cover and tied it to the legs of the frame. If you're looking for a way to foster creative, nature-based play, you cannot go wrong with a kid-friendly tent.
Wonder Tents are made with stunning blonde American maple wood and the covers are created with a mid-weight organic cotton canvas canopy. Drape the fabric over your tent frame, and attach the velcro to the four bottom corners of your frame. The key size to get your tent cover is about 44" - 51" in length and about 80" - 84" in width, so depending on the size of your crocheted cloth, your crocheted cloth to panel fabric proportion may vary from the one used. Tents make perfect little hideaways, resting spaces and they encourage your child to play creatively by making up imaginary worlds and games with their friends. From playful fields of flowers to solid pale pink or khaki to bears to hearts to landscapes – these tents offer many beautiful canopy fabric styles and each looks fabulous with the blond wood. I made a couple of these tents for gifts with vintage sheets as covers and they are so fun.
In fact, on our tent, the crocheted cover is slightly larger than the fabric panel by an inch or so on each side.
Now, we've seen all kinds of tents here at Inhabitots, but none quite so perfect for kiddos as the basic, yet beautiful Wonder Tent. I find that if you put your tent on top of a blanket it will help it from just falling flat. Wonder Tents are primarily made for indoor use, but the company notes that some outdoor use is fine, as long as you limit exposure to sun and weather as much as possible to prolong the life of the tent.
