Metadata is data about the data. It gives users information about the currency, accuracy and history of the data. Most of the layers displayed on the Waukesha County GIS Viewer have Metadata for them. Click on a metadata links on each feature to find out more information. Address Points

Description

Source of Data

Original data source was created using a join of parcel centroids to Waukesha County tax file addresses.

Source of Map

Property addresses were originally compiled using Tax Listing addresses. They are currently maintained using addresses assigned by the local addressing authorities for each community. Addresses are entered using the County's Address Maintenance System (AMS)Address points have been QC'd and maintained as part of the E911 dispatch system since 2009.

Data Currency

Address points are mapped on an ongoing basis and are current to within 30 days of current date.

Map Accuracy

Where possible, address points are placed on the rooftop of the building they reference.
