It is common for everyone to have periods of stress, anxiety and overwhelm throughout their life. In fact, taking action before the stress becomes extreme empowers you to progress in a healthy, steady manner.
Students learn and practice life skills with the goal of improving college GPA as well as confidence and self-esteem. Students also receive two handouts with tips and strategies for preventing and managing stress.6.


Below are three videos that will guide you in stress-reduction techniques: deep breathing, meditation, and stretching. Students will be educated in the harmful effects of stress on the body and will complete a personal assessment of their own stress levels prior to starting the lessons. Learners may request email copies of all handouts as well as text-based instructions for completing the video activities, to be used in conjunction with their preferred learning software.Learners with physical impairments may modify physical exercises as appropriate.
Learners will receive full credit for this lesson upon receipt of completed journal entries.


Learner product: At the end of the unit, learners will submit a reflective journal chronicling their practice of each activity, when practiced, how long practiced and personal reflection for each.
