There are several processes of meditation upon the Absolute Truth, one of which is especially recommended in the yoga texts (the Vedas), the great scriptures of the world and by yogis and saints for this present age.
When a person hears and repeats these Sacred Mantras they remember who they are, that they are not this temporary body or mind which is always changing, but the eternal spark of life also known as the soul, within the body.
The second main way to practice mantra meditation is usually practiced in a group setting and is called congregational chanting, or kirtan. Kirtan involves a small or large group of people singing mantras together, usually with one person leading and the others responding. After I finish my japa meditation in the mornings, I like to sit down, often times along with my husband and practice kirtan.
The mantras sing are transcendental sounds and have been handed down from great spiritual masters since time immemorial. I practice japa meditation every day after I have had a shower in my bedroom where there are no distractions, preferably early in the morning when the atmosphere is peaceful. Step 3: Move to the next bead and repeat the same mantra, continuing on until you reach the head bead again. Step 4: Try to find a pace that suits you, neither too fast so that you  can’t hear the mantra clearly, nor to slowly so you start to space out. Japa meditation is usually performed when we are on our own, either sitting quietly or while walking in a peaceful place. All day long we are speaking and hearing sounds that are simply increasing our preoccupation with worldly matters; so obviously not just any sound is a mantra. Through the regular practice of this Meditation it has the effect of cleansing the heart and mind so that we actually experience our real identity more and more every day. Mantra Meditation is the primary activity in the cultivation of the science (truth) of identity, the quest for understanding who we are.
These 10 positions may seem complicated, but if you start with the asanas a presented in the previous article, these will be easy to do in time. This process is helpful in focusing the mind, because the senses are involved; the tongue is vibrating the mantra, the ear is hearing the mantra, and the sense of touch is also involved, as we move our fingers along the beads. Try to say the mantra nicely, in a heartfelt way, as it is not about the quantity but the quality. A mantra is a sound vibration that frees or delivers the mind from its attachment and preoccupation with worldly matters, and focuses it on the Supreme.
This way I will continue with a few Other Basic Yoga Asanas that are easy to practice and exercise even at home.
You can find out what the chords are to your favourite song, add the mantras to it and sing away! As the mind tends to follow or become involved with what the senses are experiencing, this process is easier and more effective than silent meditation, where we can be easily distracted by what we hear, see, smell, etc.
Meditation is the activity of using the mind to reflect deeply and continuously on spiritual matters.

A mantra is the sound representation of the Original Cause and as such they are as purifying and as powerful as the Original Cause.
