Wood -

Door Edge
Door edges are comprised of a lock stile, a hinge stile and even could be considered a top and bottom rail.

Bore Holes
The holes near the door's lock edge, into which the lock mechanism and handleset is placed and installed.
Stile Line
An impression made in the fiberglass door skins to replicate the intersection where a stile and rail meet in a wood door construction.
Stile
Flat, vertical sections of a door surface on the left and right side of a door, as well as down the middle. Depending on panel layout, there may be stiles running vertically at intermediate points on the door.
- Hinge Stile
- The full-length vertical edge of a door on the side in which the hinges are attached.
- Lock Stile
- The full-length vertical edge of a door on the side in which the locking mechanism is installed.
Panel
The raised or recessed, decorative section of a door that produces deep shadow lines.
Lite Frame
The molded perimeter or surrounding that secures the glass into the door with the use of screws.
Rail
Flat, horizontal sections of a door surface at the top, middle and bottom parts of a door. Depending on panel layout, there may be rails running horizontally at intermediate points on the door.
