Details
We collect information about the payments made under the Energy Bills Discount Scheme (EBDS) in Great Britain (GB) and Northern Ireland (NI). Electricity and gas suppliers supply data on the discounts they provide to eligible non-domestic customers.
The EBDS began on 1 April 2023, succeeding the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBRS), which ended in March 2023. See the data relating to the Energy Bill Relief Scheme: payments made under the scheme.
The spreadsheet shows:
- the total amount of money paid to electricity and gas suppliers for discounts provided to non-domestic customers
- the net increase in each claim window
- the corresponding volumes of discounted electricity and gas consumption
- the number of contracts supported in each claim window
The data are presented by:
- scheme – Great Britain and Northern Ireland
- fuel type – electricity and gas
- scheme discount – baseline, energy and trade intensive industries (ETIIs) and heat networks
