These courses will help you become a qualified heavy goods vehicle (HGV) driver and get the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
If you’ve got a full car licence or medium-sized vehicle licence (category C1), these Skills Bootcamps will help you qualify to drive either:
- a rigid HGV (category C) - these are used for lots of commercial deliveries throughout the UK, some have loading access at the rear and sides as well as electronic tail lifts which makes them easier to load and unload
- an articulated lorry (category C+E) - these have 2 parts (the cab and the trailer the cab is pulling) and are mainly used in long-distance haulage or for the movement of large volumes of items as well as bulky or heavy goods

If you’ve currently got at least a rigid HGV (category C) licence, these Skills Bootcamps will help you upgrade to drive an articulated lorry (category C+E). You can also:
- qualify to transport hazardous goods such as explosives, gases or flammable liquids
- train to get your Petroleum Driver Passport so you can drive fuel tankers

If you’re not currently working as a driver but have a rigid HGV (category C) licence or articulated lorry (category C+E) licence, these Skills Bootcamps will help you:
- bring your Driver CPC qualification up to date so you can get back to driving
- upgrade your rigid HGV licence so you can drive an articulated lorry
Vehicle categories have changed over time. You might know a category C licence as HGV class 2, and category C+E as HGV class 1.
