Rebecca Fabrizi
Biography
Rebecca Fabrizi is the UK’s Small Island Developing States Envoy. She is also Deputy Director Americas and head of the Caribbean and SIDS Department at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
Prior to taking up this role she was Head of the Joint Unit for resettlement of eligible persons from Afghanistan, following a posting as Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Serbia. During her career she has held the trade and development portfolio at the UK Mission to the UN and WTO in Geneva, and also enjoyed four years as Political Counsellor at the British Embassy in Rome.
Rebecca has held various roles relating to China, including two stints at the British Embassy in Beijing, Head of the China Division of the European External Action Service in Brussels, and Associate Director of the Australian Centre on China in the World, at the Australian National University in Canberra.
Rebecca has an MA in modern languages from the University of Oxford and an MSc in financial economics from the University of London. She has reached C2 level in Mandarin, Serbian, Russian, Italian and French. She is married with three sons, and her favourite hobbies are rowing, trail running and triathlon.
