This guidance tells Home Office staff about the registration of minors born both in and outside of the British overseas territories as British overseas territories citizens.

   Updated to reflect changes to 17(2) applications. Any mention that the applicant would need to have had their birth registered within 12 months of their birth has been removed. The section on discretion has also been removed as applications made after this 12 month period will no longer be considered late.
