Sarah Tiffin
Biography
Sarah was Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Dublin from September 2017 to July 2021, her second posting to Ireland. She has also been seconded twice to the Irish Government, most recently during the 2013 Irish Presidency of the EU.
Sarah joined the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1988. Before being going Dublin Sarah worked at the British Embassy in Warsaw, also as Deputy Head of Mission. In addition to Dublin and Warsaw, she has previously been worked for the FCO in Paris, New Delhi and the UK Representation to the EU in Brussels. Sarah has also worked in the FCO as Head of the East Africa Department, and on human rights policy, on policy planning, and on human resources.
Sarah speaks fluent French and reasonable Polish. She is married to an Irish husband, and has 3 children.
