Dr Alexander Evans OBE

Biography
Alexander Evans is Strategy Director at the Cabinet Office.
A career diplomat, his previous roles include serving as Deputy and Acting High Commissioner to both India and (briefly) Pakistan, an adviser in 10 Downing Street, Foreign Office Director Cyber, and a senior adviser at the U.S. Department of State. He also led a U.N. Security Council expert mission in New York.
He has held posts at Yale, Oxford and the Library of Congress (as the Henry Kissinger Chair). He has also worked in the private sector, think-tanks, regulation and journalism.
Alexander is a Visiting Senior Fellow at LSE Ideas and a Governor of the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation.
Strategy Director
The Strategy Director is responsible for Strategy, Delivery and Private Offices.
Responsibilities include:
- supporting and advising Ministers and the Permanent Secretary
- helping to make sure the Cabinet Office runs effectively and delivers its objectives
- serving on the Cabinet Office Executive Committee.
