Andrew Warren

Biography

Andrew started his role on 7 January 2019. Before his appointment, Andrew was chair of the Teaching Schools Council. He is a Founding Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching.

Earlier in his career he also worked as:

  • an assistant director in the Children and Young People’s Directorate
  • a primary headteacher

Regional Schools Commissioner for West Midlands

The Regional Schools Commissioner for the West Midlands is responsible for making decisions about the academies and free schools in the following local authorities:

  • Cheshire East
  • Cheshire West and Chester
  • Coventry
  • Dudley
  • Herefordshire
  • Sandwell
  • Shropshire
  • Solihull
  • Staffordshire
  • Stoke-on-Trent
  • Telford and Wrekin
  • Walsall
  • Warwickshire
  • Wolverhampton
  • Worcestershire
