A Nulla Osta is the Italian version of a UK certificate of no impediment and proves you are legally allowed to get married.

PLEASE NOTE

We have been notified that some Italian notaries are currently unable to provide a notarial service to UK nationals getting married or entering into civil partnerships in Italy. We are in discussion with the National Council of Italian Notaries to try to resolve this.

In the meantime we advise anyone wishing to get married or enter a civil partnership in Italy to use the getting married abroad tool and then to make an appointment at the British Embassy in Rome, where we can complete the necessary documentation prior to issuing a Certificate of No Impediment (Nulla Osta).
