Louise Cantillon

Biography

Louise Cantillon took up the role of Consul General in Sydney, and Deputy Trade Commissioner, Department for International Trade, Australia and New Zealand, in April 2021

Prior to her upcoming posting to Australia, Louise was Sector Director and Minister Counsellor, Creative, Consumer and Learning Industries for the Department of International Trade based in Shanghai, China. Prior to this role, Louise led the Infrastructure, Creative and Sports Teams in China. A Chartered Surveyor by background, Louise brings a wealth of international experience in both the public and private sectors to the role. Previous roles include at the British Council where she was Head of Major Projects and worked across Afghanistan, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Malaysia and so on. Other notable past experience includes developing the Helix Park in Scotland that featured the 100ft high award winning Kelpie sculptures, delivering schools under PPP frameworks and setting up facilities for a UK company in China.

Louise is accompanied by her partner Tim, a software engineer, and their two lively young boys.
