Coronavirus (COVID-19): send application by email

If possible, you should send any applications by email to CITESapplication@apha.gov.uk as staff may not be able to collect post during the coronavirus outbreak.

Please apply in advance to avoid delay – APHA is dealing with a high volume of applications.

Use form FED0172 to apply for a permit to import, export or re-export an endangered specimen in or out of the UK, or for movements between Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) and Northern Ireland.

You must also use this form if you’re importing, exporting or re-exporting a musical instrument made from CITES species.

A specimen includes any living or dead plant or animal (or any of its parts) listed under Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) controls.

You only need the permit for a species listed under annex A or B of CITES.

Use the Species+ tool to search for an endangered species. Check which annex (A, B, C or D) it’s classified under.
