Samantha Smith
Biography
Ms Samantha Smith has been Chargé d’Affaire’s to the Kingdom of Eswatini since December 2020. Prior to taking up her current position, she was the Deputy Ambassador in Mali, providing in country resilience as part of the UK response to COVID-19.
Ms Smith joined the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office in 2007, following roles in another Government Department. She has previously served as: Head of the Global Britain Uplift; Deputy Head of the Africa Roamer Team; Head of Corporate Services, South Sudan; HM Consul, Sana’a, Yemen; the Governor’s Representative on Pitcairn Island; and as a Policy Officer and Private Secretary. She has completed postings to South Sudan, Yemen and the Pitcairn Islands.
