CATEGORIES: Declamation
(Beginner and Advanced Levels) – Please note NOVICE SPEAKERS at the time of
registration; Student Congress (PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER ANY CONTESTANTS IN
CONGRESS if you did not meet the deadline for submission of bills.)
The Congress Bill Deadline will be Monday, September 29th at 9:00pm.
Students in Declamation will compete
together in pre-lim rounds. The top 8 speakers, regardless of level, will
advance to finals. A separate final
round will be held for eight of the next best Beginner Level dec’ers.
REGISTRATION: 9:00-9:30 on Saturday morning at Stuyvesant H.S..
LEGISLATION: You must submit up to 2 pieces of legislation for this
tournament by Monday, September 29th.
Legislation must be:
E-Mailed to Congress@NYCFL.org.
If you have not submitted legislation
by the deadline, you will not be able to register speakers in Student Congress.
Bills will be finalized on Thursday, October 2nd
at 9:00am.

PRE-REGISTRATION: The Pre-Registration Deadline is Wednesday, October 8th.
You may pre-register in one of two ways (Telephone registrations will no
longer be accepted):
1. Registration must be done on
TABROOM.COM under Hugh McEvoy
The Number of Judges you will be providing
JUDGING
REQUIREMENTS:
A) ONE qualified judge for every FIVE
Declamation entries or fraction thereof.
A judge is qualified
to judge at this tournament under NYCFL rules
If he or she is a
college freshman or older;
AND
is the coach of a
program, OR has judged before, OR participated in forensics as a student.
SENIORS MAY JUDGE
DECLAMATION AT THIS TOURNAMENT
B) ONE judge if you are entering
students in Congress. Please try to
provide a judge is familiar with the category and who could function as
parliamentarian.
** THERE IS NO FORMAL JUDGE TRAINING AT THIS CONTEST **
FEES: $4.00 per speaker from a member school. Non-member registration will not be accepted.
LUNCH: Stuyvesant will provide very light refreshments for all
judges. Students should plan to bring
lunch.
DROPS/ADDS: Call or text drops to (914) 649-8246 with drops as late on
Friday night or Saturday Morning.
** REMEMBER **
Drops after the registration
deadline of 9 PM on WEDNESDAY do not alter your judging quota.
Registration fees for
drops on the morning of the contest must still be paid.
There are NO ADDS after the pre-registration deadline has
passed.
