All About Subway Surfers Animated Series
June 1, 2018 was the day that the first episode of Subway Surfers Animated Series was released. It came out on their Youtube Channel, and it’s only four minutes long. It was made in partnership with DHX Media and German-based CGI-animation house Wil Film.
Happening alongside the series launch was a street party hosted by SUBSURF at Venice Beach Skate Park. It featured live skating, game competitions, graffiti art with famed artist Muck Rock, and more. The launch of the version where the Subway Surfers Characters were on Venice Beach happened during this event, too. At that time, the gang has already visited over 43 destinations around the world.
How the Series Came to be
Before the game, SYBO founder Bodie Jahn-Mulliner and additional founder and CCO Sylvester Rishøj created an animated short in 2009. It is about a feisty figure who graffitis a railway station while escaping an irritable inspector and his dog. Once the app took off, so has the development for a 26 x 13-minute animated TV series.
For the short-form Subway Surfers, the head writers were Brent Friedman and Francesca Marie Smith. DHX Media was producing partner and Wil Film took charge of post-production duties.
Kids, teenagers, and adults who are huge fans of the game are the target audience of this series. It is set in one location and is all about the characters and their personalities.

The series was not released at the same time since there were various production schedules, but we can safely say that all episodes are now available on Youtube.
