Synopsis:
Lars lever et liv uden de store armsving. Han passer sin invalide mor og sit arbejde på den lokale tankstation. Han er hemmeligt forelsket i pigen Julie, som bor i hans opgang og som gerne slår et smut forbi tanken, når der er et eller andet, hun mangler. En dag besvimer Julie for fødderne af Lars. Da hun vågner, forveksler hun Lars med sin afdøde kæreste Søren, og Lars står nu over for valget, om han vil guide hende tilbage til virkeligheden eller holde hende fast i troen på, at hán er hendes kæreste. Han vælger det sidste, og sammen glider de hurtigt ind i deres egen lukkede verden. En reflekterende film om kærlighed og identitetsskabelse, der gennemspiller sit tema på mange planer.
