Claire ist auf der Suche nach ihrem Verlobten. Der sollte eigentlich in der Schweiz seinen Geschäften nachgehen, als Claire dort ankommt, muss sie aber feststellen, dass die Geschäftsadresse nicht mehr als ein Postfach ist. Der einzige Hinweis den sie hat, führt sie in das kleine Südamerikanische Land Cornonado. Dort herrscht der Ausnahmezusstand und Claire gerät mitten in den Kampf zwischen Regierungstruppen und Rebellen. Ihre einzige Unterstützung bei ihrer Suche ist der US Reporter Arnett, der aber zu nächst wenig erfreut ist , dass er das Kindermädchen für die junge Frau spielen soll. Gemeinsam machen sie sich auf die Suche nach dem Rebellenlager, in dem Claire ihren Verlobten vermutet und in dem Arnett wichtige Geschäfte zu erledigen hat. Doch so einfach wie sich die Beiden das vorstellen wird die Reise natürlich nicht...
