Ford has revealed that prices for the Edge SUV will start at ?29,995 for the entry-level 177bhp 2.0-litre TDCi Zetec model. The 177bhp engine is also available in the Titanium and Sport spec levels, priced at ?32,245 and ?34,495 respectively. Plus there are other changes like acoustic glass, which massively cuts noise levels inside.
The interior may lack the design flair of something like an Audi, but the quality is impeccable plus it feels well finished and solidly built. That may put some buyers off, but the Edge is still family friendly with a huge boot, fold flat seats and lots of rear space.
The Mustang may get all the attention but the Edge is a car that will no doubt do more to change the perception of Ford. The interior is not good enough to compete against the X3 and Q5, there build and material quality and look of interior components is in another league to the Edge.
